Horizon Lines is a citywide ideas competition and public exhibition organized by World Business Chicago to explore bold visions for the future of Chicago. Open to anyone, the competition invited residents, designers, planners, students and innovators to imagine what the city could become by 2050. Nearly 200 submissions were reviewed by approximately 170 judges, with the top entries advancing to a jury that selected six finalists. A winning vision will be announced in September 2026.

The exhibition showcases the six finalists alongside 15 notable visions, nine Best of the Neighborhoods selections representing Chicago’s geographic regions and a collection of Chicago Tribune essays exploring the city’s future.

Working closely with my colleagues at M. Harris & Kern, the World Business Chicago team and designer Thomas Snyder, I collaborated on the visual identity and led the exhibition design, translating a broad range of civic ideas into an engaging public installation about Chicago’s future.
